The name “KidsSavingsAccount.info” comes from the idea that in my own life and childhood – the savings account I had as a child fascinated me and gave me a boost with regard to financial education. My parents had very little understanding of finance beyond the most basic concepts of checking and savings and home mortgages. Investing was way beyond the scope of their expertise. Given I had an early start learning to compute interest and understanding the impact that money has on one’s ABILITY to make MORE money gave me all the motivation I needed to master the topics of finance.

This does not mean in any way that you or your children should expect to master any concepts presented here. Instead, I would hope you would use this site as inspiration, and a springboard for you to chart your own learning course.
